A service of Post-Polio Health International

Roosevelt Warm Springs

Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation is a State of Georgia-run medical and vocational facility that offers long-term acute care as well as extensive outpatient services. Camps hosting international competition for disabled athletes provide showcases for the world's top wheelchair athletes. A calendar for the Roosevelt Warm Springs Conference and Continuing Education Center is provided. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt founded Roosevelt Warm Springs in 1927 when his polio condition was benefited by the legendary Pine Mountain warm water springs that were used by early Native American Indians and soldiers of the Civil War.
